From the Busy B‘s Kitchen

Hi! I'm Monica, the baker and owner of Busy B's Bakery.

April showers have brought May flowers, more showers, and some pretty sweet celebrations, from kindergarten graduations all the way to college send-offs.

May is one of those months that feels full of little milestones. The school year is wrapping up, families are celebrating big accomplishments, and calendars filled up with graduations, birthdays, teacher gifts, Mother’s Day moments, and all the “how is it already May?” energy.

Here at Busy B’s, I’m celebrating all of it with custom cookies, upcoming classes, seasonal treats, and a few new things blooming behind the scenes. Whether you’re celebrating a graduate, planning a party, or just looking for a sweet reason to smile, I’m so glad you’re here.

Sweet Spotlight

Shouting out the unsung heroes of tax season: our spreadsheet-slaying accountants, bookkeepers, and financial pros who help the rest of us maintain our sanity.

These custom cookies were made for my accountant and her team at Accounting with Confidence as a sweet thank-you for all they do.

You keep crunching the numbers, and I’ll keep the cookies coming.

Buzzing Around St Louis

If you’re looking for something fun to do this spring, nothing says St. Louis quite like a trip to the zoo. I hear the new sloth exhibit is absolutely adorbs, and honestly, I’m not sure there is a wrong time to go admire an animal whose whole personality is “slow down and snack.”

Another spring favorite? Suson Park.

If you have not been during baby goat season, consider this your official sign. The baby goats are tiny, chaotic, precious little springtime gremlins, and they are absolutely worth the trip. Suson Park is such a fun spot for families, kids, animal lovers, or anyone who needs a little fresh air and serotonin.

So whether you’re visiting the sloths at the St. Louis Zoo or stopping by Suson Park to see the baby goats, there are plenty of sweet little ways to enjoy spring around St. Louis.

What’s Baking Soon

I’m having a Build Your Own Burger cookie decorating class.

What’s on your burger? Lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles? We’re doing it all with cookies, royal icing, and modeling chocolate.

I’ve been playing with macarons in the kitchen.

If you’ve ever had a macaron, you know they are tiny, fancy little cookies with big main-character energy. They are delicate, colorful, and just the right amount of dramatic, which honestly feels on brand for them.

I’m still testing flavors, colors, and fillings, but the early reviews have been very sweet. I’m excited to keep practicing and perfecting them so I can eventually add them to the Busy B’s lineup for special occasions, gift boxes, and maybe even seasonal flavors.

Right now, I’m dreaming up combinations like raspberry, blueberry, and hibiscus, with more flavors to come as I keep experimenting.

So stay tuned. Something pretty, sweet, and just a little fancy may be buzzing into the bakery soon.
